Hi, this is the not new issue, but I still think it’s important to raise it again.
When I connect my phone to CarPlay, the functionality of the main iOS app is severely limited. For example, I really like being able to view fuel prices on the map, but when I’m driving, I can’t tell whether a particular petrol station is on my route or not… and it’s impossible to tell just by seeing ‘12.9 km’.
However, there are two points:
– even if it’s difficult to display petrol stations and their prices directly on the CarPlay screen in map format rather than as a list, then
– I’d like this option to still work on my phone!
Imagine this: I often don’t drive alone; I have someone sitting next to me who could look up the petrol station’s address on my phone and tap a single button to ‘plan a route’. (Although even I find it quicker to using a visual map, and it distracts me less from driving than a simple list)
I recently had the most ridiculous situation: I asked a friend to find a petrol station in my phone in the Flitsmeister app… he tried to do it on my phone, but couldn’t because of the problem described above. He then downloaded and installed the Flitsmeister app himself, but this option is only available for PRO accounts, so he couldn’t find the petrol station’s address for me. I had to completely disconnect the car from CarPlay, and only then was my friend able to find the right petrol station using my phone...
It gets even more frustrating when I’m using a different navigation app but want to view just the map showing petrol stations in the Flitsmeister app. That’s still not possible...
It’s terribly inconvenient... Just very, very inconvenient.
